Plot Summary:The play tells a story happened in the summer of 1939 when the Japanese occupied Shanghai.Wang Mutian and other three or four boys who were at the same age of him, sixteen or seventeen were organizing their naive anti-Japanese movement. Hong Wangnan, the fiance of Wang Mutian's cousin was an engineer of KMT Air Force. He secretly sneaked into Shanghai to look for aircraft manufacturing talent and persuaded them to help the central aircraft manufacturing factory to manufacture fighters. At the same time, Sang Xia, Wang Mutian's cousin arrived in Shanghai Singapore. In fact, this Sang Xia was not the real one, but a Communist Party member, and she attempted to develop a channel for New Fourth Army to buy drugs and other materials from overseas. Under the guidance of Sang Xia, Wang Mutian grew into a staunch revolutionary fighter from an ignorant patriotic young man. During that time, those young people in Wang family and Hong family were going through all sorts of trials and tests, and finally embarked on different paths in life.
一九三九年夏，在日本占领下的上海。王沐天和三四个同样十六七岁年龄的男孩进行着他们幼稚的抗日运动。王沐天姐姐的未婚夫洪望楠是国民党空军的工程师。他秘密潜回上海网络飞机制造人才，为中央飞机制造厂制造战斗机出力。与此同时，王沐天的表姐桑霞从新加坡来到上海。其实这个桑霞是冒名顶替的，她是一名共产党员，她的目的是为新四军从海外购买药品等物质打通一条通道。在桑霞的引领下，王沐天从一个懵懂的爱国青年逐渐成长为一位坚定的革命战士。而在这段时间里，王家和洪家的这些年轻人，也经历了种种的风雨考验，踏上了不同的人生道路。
